The former parish Catholic church dedicated to the Ascension of the Holy Virgin Mary and Archangel Nicolas dates back to the 1st half of the 15th c. In 1494, its interior was decorated with monumental polychrome. During the Tatar invasion in 1624, the church was damaged and then renovated and enlarged (tower and arcades were built). At the end of the 18th c., the interior was transformed and the Holy Mother church was built. The church in Haczow, erected in the więzbowo-zaskrzynieniowo-zaczepowy system (see translator’s explanation in Golcowa), is one of the oldest and largest wooden churches in end-fitted log construction.
