You might be able to see, soaring high above the wilderness of the Low Beskid, the Lesser Spotted Eagle, the symbol of the Magurski National Park. The park was set up in 1995 and its area covers 19 439 hectares. As the name suggests the mountains are rather small. The area is extremely thinly populated which is favourable to rich fauna and flora. It is well worth seeing the sandstone rock formations in the “Kornuta” nature reserve located on the slopes of the Magura Wątkowska. You can see memories of the past such as old Łemko villages with their little orthodox churches and cemeteries from the First World War scattered all over these mountains. Also just on the park border you can visit the small health resort in Wapienne.
