The base camp is situated at 3700m and lies at the terminus of the Annapurna Glacier. Great views can be had down the Modi Khola. It is a great place to spend the night and then proceed the following day to ABC. It is the starting point for mountaineers looking to climb Machhapuchhre which is otherwise known as Fish Tail. Accomodation options are the Machhapuchhre Guest House, Ganga Purna View Lodge Gurung Co-perative Guest House and the Fish Tail Guest House. Most of the time phone service is available.
