Day 1 - Arrival day in Kathmandu
On arrival to Kathmandu; we will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. In the evening we will brief about the trek and time to rest as you will have an early day tomorrow.
Day 2 - Kathmandu - Lukla Flight and trek to Phakding
35 minutes flight Altitude: Lukla at 2800m/9184ft & Phakding (2652m/8698ft) Distance of walking - Approx 8 Kms - 3 to 4 hours
In the morning we will drive you to the airport ready to board your flight to Lukla (35 min flight) upon arrival you will meet your guide and porter and start the trek. We will start by taking an easy walk passing through Chaurikharka village and make a descent towards Dudhkoshi Ghat (2,530m/8,300ft). The trail follows the bank of the Dudhkoshi River until Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft) where we will be staying for the night. For the first we will stay lower than Lukla in order to help you to acclimatize.
Free time to explore Phakding.
Day 3 - Phakding - Namche Bazaar
Altitude: 3440m/11283ft Walking Distance - 10-12 Kms - 5-6 hours
Morning breakfast in Phakding then start walking for a slightly longer trekking day to Namche Bazaar, the biggest sherpa village in Nepal. We star the trail crossing Dudhkoshi River over a long suspension bridge, then walking through a beautiful pine forest. After about 2 hours of trekkin we will reach Monjo and soon thereafter, we will approach the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, where our permits will be checked, then short descent to Dudh Kosi river passing thorough Mani stones and then to Jorsale, the last stop before heading up hill to Namche. Since no tea house is available from Jorsale to Namche , lunched will served here here.
From Jorsale, across the river again with a long suspension bridge, then short walking through the riverbank brings you to another deep suspension bridge which is known as the HILLARY SUNSPENSION BRIDGE. The Hillary bridge connects you to the big hill which requires a tough walk all the way up to Namche Bazaar.
There is a rest point which gives you a first glimpse of Mt. Everest, time to get our camera out and enjoy the view.
Namche Bazaar is the gateway to Mt. Everest and the main trading centre of the region. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 4 - Namche Bazaar - Rest and Acclimatization
Altitude: 3440m/11283ft Acclimatization Day
Today, we will spend a day in Namche Bazaar, resting and allowing our bodies to become acclimatized to the altitude of (3,440m/11,283ft). The best acclimatization hike we could recommend for this day is to Everest View point which is approx 2 hours uphill from Namche.
If you wish to explore only Namche Bazaar, a visit to the Sherpa museum is a must a great place to learn about the Sherpa culture and the history of mountaineering and if this happens to be Saturday, you will also find a wonderful local market (Hatt Bazaar) at Namche Bazaar where the locals trade their good. Namche Bazaar, is a tourist shopping hub where you can find all trekking and mountaineering clothing and equipment.
Day 5 - Namche Bazaar - Tyangboche
Altitude: 3870m/12,684ft Walking Distance - Approx 10 Kms - 6 hours
After having breakfast in Namche Bazaar, we continue trekking to our ultimate goal to Everest Base Camp .
We start our trek enjoying breathtaking views of many Himalayan mountains on the right. The mighty Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kwangde are some of the hightlights not be missed.
A short drop takes us to the riverside, across the river and then we will trek upwards through the forest pass, this part of the hike is gradual with some steep ground and continuous uphill before reaching Tyangboche.
Tyangboche, one of the most beautiful places in the Everest region, is famous for its amazing views of Ama Dablam and the Tyangboche monastery.
The Tengboche monastery is one of the biggest Buddhist monasteries of the Khumbu region, your guide will take you to see this monastery surroundings, chant with Buddhist monk and enjoy the praying ceremony.
Day 6 - Tyangboche - Dingboche
Altitude: 4400m/14435ft Walking Distance: Approx - 11 Kms - 6 hours
After breakfast in Tyangboche, our trek will start. The hike descends to the rhododendron forest to Deboche and crosses a bridge over the raging Imja Khol River. Passing the valley wall, and then traverse the plains to Pangboche village which is the biggest settlement village of Sherpa peoples, it has a great chance to see a typical Sherpa village on the locals.
If you have some energy left, you may plan to have lunch here and while the lunch is being preparing whick takes approx 30 minutes, take a short hike to the monastery over the hill at Pangboche- probably the oldest monastery of the Khumbu region.
Hiking towards Dingboche from here is a difficult walk, the landscape changes and we are likely to see dry and deserted mountains.
Day 7 - Acclimatization day at Dingboche
Altitude: 4400m/14435ft Acclimatize and explore Dingboche´s surroundings
On this day you will rest before the last leg of our adventure. You will have a full day rest in Dingboche or explore the surroundings of valley Chhukung and Imja valley which links with Island Peak and to the high passes of Amphu Laptse an Makalu Barun National park.
If you interested, you may hike to Chhukung (5000m Approx) for a rewarding view of the valley or explore the Dingboche.
We refrain,it is indeed very important to have a complete day of rest.
Day 8 - Dingboche - Lobuche
Altitude: 4900m/16,076ft) Walking Distance Approx of 11-12 kms- 6 to 7 hours
Starting from now, the trek is gradual and more challenging due to high altitude. However till reaching Dungla, the walking is relatively tough and after reaching the top of the hill we will see the memorial stupas from the climbers who lost their lives while trekking and climbing around the Everest region, this part of the trek is steep and tough.
Another short walk from the hill top followed by a walk over rugged mountain route which will brings us to the small settlement of this hill on top of Loboche where we will be spending the night. Here, you can see the best views of Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Pumari and the Nuptse.Wrap up as nights are often cold here.
Day 9 - Lobuche - Gorakshep - Everest Base Camp - Gorekshep
Altitude: 5,180m/16,994ft at Gorekshep and 5364m/17598 at EBC Distance of walking: Approx 15 Kms - 6 to 8 hours
We first trek from Lobuche towards Gorekshep which is relatively easier. Hiking from Gorekshep to Everest Base Camp we follow a straight line; this part of the trail involves rocky dunes and moraine (formed accumulation of unconsolidated glacial debris),further up we will reach the famous Khumbu Glacier. We will visit the Khumbu ice fall (the ice fall is on the slopes of Mount Everest) time to get your cameras out. If happens to be the climbing season ( March to May), you will have the opportunity to meet climbers attempting the summit of Everest.
Late afternoon, return back to Gorekshep and overnight.
Day 10 - Gorekshep - Kalapathar - Pheriche
Altitude: At Kalapathar 5545m/ 18192ft; at Pheriche 4320m/14173ft Walking distance: 12-13 Kms - 5 to 6 hours
This part of the trek requires an early walk as we will head to Kalapathar which means black rock) in order to watch an amazing sunrise over to the Mt. Everest. The view is just spectacular where you will get a glimpse of Nuptse Nup, Changtse and Lhotse.
Enjoy this moment, as it is the best opportunity to take great pictures of Everest and its neighbor mountains.
After great views we return to Gorekshep, breakfast and head towards to Pheriche for overnight. Descending is a lot easier and the pace faster.
Day 11 - Pheriche - Namche
Altitude: 3440m/11,284ft Distance of walking: 13-15 Kms - 7 to 8 hours
The walk from Pheriche to Tyangboche is mainly downwards and requires an hour climbing over a hill. By late afternoon we will reach Namche where we will spending the night
Day 12 - Namche - Phakding - Lukla
Altitude: 2,800m/9,184ft Walking Distance: 16 Kms - 6 to 7 hours
After breakfast, we hike down the trek towards the Hillary Suspension Bridge and then continue walking over through several local villages.
Once we get to Lukla, check in at your hotel and time to chill out Evening, we recommend a party with your trekking crew member, yes you have made it great team work and it is your last in the mountain.
Day 13 - Lukla - Kathmandu
Altitude: 1350m/4428ft 35minute Trans Himalayan flight
After breakfast, its time to board your flight to Kathmandu.
On arrival transfer to your hotel.Time for a well deserved rest after conquering the Himalayas.
Evening, we will meet you again, take a feedback of your trek and offer you a farewell dinner at one of the finest Nepalese restaurant in town.
Day 14 - Departure day from Kathmandu
It is your last day in Nepal.After Breakfast,you are free to do some last minute shopping in Kathmandu.As per your flight time, we will take you to Kathmandu International Airport and your trip is over with us.
