The National Museum situated in Mongolia is considered to be a museum which reflects the cultural heritage and history of Mongolia. It gives information of Mongolia from the beginning of humanity till date. The museum is responsible for maintaining and preserving the cultural heritage of Mongolia. Fifty employees are there in the museum. Government funding and admissions from the Ministry of Education are the major source of income for the museum.

The museum originated in the year 1924. The building of the National Museum was constructed in the year 1971 as a Museum of Revolution. There are ethnographic, pre-historic, medieval and twentieth century collections in the museum. One of the major activities of the museum is to establish collaborations and develop relations with other museums and institution worldwide. The main aim of the museum is to conserve the historical and cultural heritage of the country.
