Khar Us Nuur National Park

Khar Us Nuur National Park is situated in the province named Hovd. It is about 40 kms away from Hovd city. This park has the major lakes of Hovd province. The Khar Us Lake is spread over an area of 1495 sq kms. Its depth is just 4 meters. The largest river of the province flows through this park. It is River Hovd. It empties into the Khar Us Lake delta. This delta is an important destination for migratory birds. The park is a breeding and molting stop for birds. Bird watching is an important attraction between May and August. The park has a metal bird observation tower too. It was created in the year 2000. The park is important due to its rich cultural and natural heritage. There are various plants and animals in the park. The park is open on weekdays.
