Valletta Waterfront

Throughout history up until some decades ago, most activities in Malta centred on the Grand Harbour. Valletta and other towns and cities around the harbour grew up as a result of these activities. Over the past 40 years the importance of Valletta’s Grand Harbour has diminished steadily, mainly due to the extensive devastation of the harbour areas during WWII. The area is now seeing a change in its fortunes, with the number of previously run-down areas around it being refurbished and renovated.A key component of this renaissance is the Valletta Waterfront project, conceived to recreate the bustle and activity that this area was known for in the harbour’s heyday.

Along The Valletta Waterfront is now an assortment of interesting restaurants and shops, popular with tourists and locals alike for delicious food in a setting with an unsurpassable view.
