Coloane Alto

Coloane Alto standing at an altitude of 172 meters is the highest point of Macau. The hilly region comprises of several hiking trails of various lengths and difficulty. Because of the numerous hiking trails and winding roads, hikers and mountain bikers and get attracted towards it. The best time to go cycling in the hilly region is early in the morning or on weekdays as the area remains crowded with hikers especially during the weekends.

One of the major attractions for tourists at Coloane Alto is the 20m high statue of goddess A-Ma that was erected in 1998. Besides this, the Cultural Village located around the mountain and featuring religious and cultural buildings is another important attraction. For reaching the statue and cultural village, tourists have to pass via Estrada do Alto de Coloane or by walking the Coloane trail.
