Hiroshima is the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture, and the largest city in the Chūgoku region of western Honshu, the largest island of Japan. It became best known as the first city in history to be destroyed by a nuclear weapon when the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) dropped an atomic bomb on it at 8:15 A.M. on August 6, 1945, near the end of World War II.

Hiroshima is the home to many remarkable and outstanding attractions. Recovered fully from the tragedy of 6 August 1945, this city has overcome the past and welcomes visitors of all nationalities with open arms. The most important attraction here is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, which is dedicated to the legacy of Hiroshima, which was the world's first city to suffer a nuclear attack. Hiroshima’s original castle, built in the late 16th century was destroyed in the atomic blast was reconstructed same as the original.

This castle houses a museum which displays the facts about the city’s history and the historic feudal system.
