Most trekking routes start from Yuksom in West Sikkim which is 145 kilometers from Gangtok. Necessary permits need to be obtained from Wildlife Education and Information Centre at Yuksom, and Inner Line Permit from the State Home Department for Indian residents. Foreign Nationals however, would require a Restricted Area Permit from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India office at Delhi, to visit this Park and the associated region. Permission of the State Chief Wildlife Warden is also mandatory for everybody visiting this Park. The State Tourism Department along with other travel agents organizes regular treks to Dzongri and many other places.
