A picturesque tourist, picnic and recreational spot, Kalyani Dam constructed on the river Kalyani, is located at a distance of 25 km from Tirupati on the Tirupati - Madanapalli Road. Attracting a number of tourists from Tirupati and the surrounding villages of Chittoor District, this dam is also the main source of drinking water supply in Tirupati and Tirumala. This mesmerizing water-body amidst natural mountains is a delightful place and a pleasure to watch. Situated within the Bakarapeta Forests, the surrounding areas of Kalyani Dam display a good amount of birdlife.
