Jayakwadi Bird Sanctuary is spread over in both Aurangabad and Ahamadnagar districts of Marathawada region in Maharashtra. The presence of the Nathsagar Lake in the sanctuary, makes the surrounding area rich in aquatic flora and fauna. Th surrounding region is prominently agricultural land that also creates a rich acquatic environment.

The Jayakwadi Sanctuary has attracted many different varieties of resident and migratory birds which range to close to 200 in numbers. This includes more than 70 species of migratory birds out of which 45 major species are from across the globe. The most noteworth of them are Cranes, Brahmany Duck, Pintails,Flamingos, Pochards Teals, Pintails, Shovellar, Glossy Ibis, etc.
