The Mahadev Ghat is located 5 kms from the centre of Raipur on the banks of the river Kharun. The Hatkeswar Mahadev Temple was built here in 1402. In recent times many other temples have been built around it. You can hire one of the numerous boats on the steps of the ghat and sail on the river. Scholars opine that the area around Mahadev Ghat comprised the first Kalachuri settlement in the Raipur region.
