Situated amid magnificent ravine, Handi Khoh is an imposing canyon near the hill station of Pachmarhi in Central India. Featuring a 300 feet high crag surrounded by dense forest, this region is endowed with unique scenic beauty. The clinging rock face of the gulch for ages has been a haven for numerous beehives living through generations. Serene and silent, the buzz of gushing water is clearly audible at this place.

Popular belief is that Handi Khoh was originally a lake guarded by a demon evil snake. Lord Shiva eventually killed this snake in a divine battle and the fury of the encounter dried up this space and which assumed the shape of a Handi (pot). Subsequently the locals began calling it Andhi Khow, which later was adopted as Handi Khoh as is presently called.
