This Sanctuary is into being since 1981. It comprises of a total area of 511 sq. km. The Great Indian Bustard, Black buck, Chital, Monkey, Wolf, Blue bull, Wild boar, Fox, Hyena etc. are among the prominent fauna spotted at the sanctuary. ‘Dhuan Hanuman Temple’. ‘Dev-cave’, ‘Gupteshwar Temple’ are some of the popular religious spots neighboring Ghatigaon apart from Gwalior, Sonagiri, Shivpuri, Datia, Jhansi, Chanderi, Orchha etc which are also situated close to the Sanctuary. Vehicles of M.P. Tourism Development Corporation are available. Tourists here have the option of accommodation at private hotels or M.P Tourism Development Corporation hotels at Gwalior or Shivpuri.
