The Icelandic Museum of Design and Applied Art
is located in Gardabaer. Gardabaer is also home to the archeological park Hofsstadir, which preserves the remains of the second largest farm from the Settlement era, and Krokur, an old farm.
Hofsstadir is an open-air site open 24hours year-round, and Krokur farm is open to visitors during the summer months (June-August).
