Description: Jákotpuszta-ecological farm, being the last of the 174 farms in Nógrád county is located on the picturesque hills of the South-Cserhát mountains, in the vicinity of Bercel community. This regional centre represents the new patterns of thinking and farming laid down by the National Agro-Ecological program of 1999. The site demonstrates farming methods essential for protecting Natural Reserves and maintaining a healthy environment to farmers and environment protection activists as well as to intereste visitors. Almost every race of indigenous Hungarian domestic animals are represented in Jákotpuszta: the pastures are inhabited by blonde-haired Mangalica-pigs, Cigája-sheep, Grey Ox, Domestic Water Buffalo, Donkeys, Horses and poultry.
