Excursions on the island of Kulusuk:
Besides being the gateway, the island also has a unique landscape that is ideal for short hikes. A trip that is recommended for all visitors goes to the top of Isikajia Mountain at just over 300 metres high. There is a fabulous view from there over the huge icebergs in the Denmark Strait and East Greenland's high mountains 100 km away.

From Kulusuk it takes 10 minutes to fly the 23 kilometres (14 miles) by helicopter (Air Greenland) to the main town of Tasiilaq, which is situated on the island of Ammassalik.
