Unspoiled by touristic development and urbanization, there is hardly anything to do at Marie Galante except spend a wonderful relaxed holiday within this natural paradise. Historically this island has been widely utilized for the cultivation of sugarcane, and tourists can still frequently come across carts on the roads carrying loads during harvest time. Famous for sugar and rum, Marie Galante has kept numerous testimonials of its history and farming activities intact. Simple, authentic and elementary, Marie Galante is an exceptional farming and fishing paradise of the Caribbean Sea within the Guadeloupe archipelago.

Spread over a 158 square kilometer landscape which is home to over 12,000 residents, Marie Galante is generally dived into the three communes of Grand-Bourg, the Capesterre-de-Marie-Galante and Saint Louis. With regular shuttle services connecting Marie Galante to Pointe a Pitre and Saint Francois, make sure you carry a hat and suntan cream on your tour.
