The Bibliotheque Schoelcher is one of the top tourist attractions in Fort De France. The beautiful structure featuring vibrant colors and a Byzantine dome was built in Paris and was cut into pieces and brought here via ship.

The building is used as a library and houses several antique books. Balata Church modeled after the famous Sacre-Coeur Basilica in Paris was built in the year 1923 in memory of people who died in the First World War.
