Congo Kinshasa

This second largest country in Africa and the 11th largest in the World is home to some of the most beautiful National Parks and an exquisite wildlife. However, unfortunate that some parts of this beautiful Central African country are unsafe for tourist travel due to conflicts and civil war. Located within the heart of sub-Saharan Africa, this region experiences a high level of precipitation due to its equatorial location and experiences one of the highest frequencies of thunderstorms in the world. Beholding the second largest rainforests in the world after the Amazon, Congo Kinshasa is fast recovering from the 1998 Second Congo War which literally devastated this wonderful country.

Officially known as the Democratic Republic of Congo now and which was formerly known as Zaire, this nation is home to the wonderful Virunga National Park, Kahuzi-Biega National Park, Garamba National Park, Salonga National Park, the Okapi Wildlife Reserve, and the Maiko National Park, some of which are also registered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
