Bogota, the capital city of Colombia is a pleasant surprise. Showcasing one of the most important Mass Transit System in Latin America, Bogota also features Ciclovia - which is the World’s largest bicycling network covering over 300 kilometers. With a population around 8.8 million people, Bogota in fact, is a world-class urban destination. Offering a unique Latin American experience to visitors, Bogota City is affectionately known as ‘The Athens of South America’. The new shopping malls which have sprung up within the last few years have immensely boosted and revived the city economy.

Home to several fine hotels and restaurants, numerous important tourist landmark destinations in Bogota include the Botanical Garden Jose Celestino Mutis, the planetarium, the national observatory, the Colpatria observation point, and the La Candelaria historical district. Divided into 20 districts for administrative purposes, Bogota City is well connected with the rest of the world through the El Dorado International Airport.
