The bulk of Chile’s industrial and commercial activity is concentrated in the national and regional capital of Santiago.Santiago is served by Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport.

The Cathedral on the central square (Plaza de Armas) is a sight that ranks as high as the Palacio de la Moneda, the Presidential Palace.
There is an extensive network of bicycle trails in the city, especially in the Providencia comuna. The city's main parks are:
San Cristóbal Hill , O'Higgins Park and Santa Lucía Hill.
