University of Battambang

Constructed under the instructions of King Norodom Sihanuk in the year 1965 the University of Battambang was inaugurated on October 31st, 1968. Various committees and centers were constituted before the final opening of the university during 1975 to 1979, especially during the Pol Pot regime. Between the years 1979 to 1990, the University of Battambang had a military training centre based here. Likewise, it also had a teacher training centre between 1994 and 1998.

This university, which is of international standards, aims to educate the youth leaders of tomorrow in various fields of education. The University of Battambang campus comprises of two noted sections- the new buildings and the old structures.
