A week away from the kids and day to day stress for my wife and my self and a time to kick back relax and enjoy the adventures of a Carribean island. We just wanted to lay in the sun and explore the island and see what the local flavor was.

We checked into a condo on the beach and it did not take us long to get to the water, but instead of relaxing we were snorkeling in less than an hour and we were in the water or on the water( we learned to sail while we were there) thte rest of the trip except for the four hours a day we drove around and explored the rest of the island.

The most fun was the sailing ourselves and going on a day sailing trip that took us to a cove of nearby St. John’s and we were just amazed at just how far we could see while snorkeling in the area.

The trip was taken with the idea that we would do very little except relax, but that did not happen we were enjoying the water most of the time by either snorkeling, sailing or diving. The complex were we stayed allowed us the use of a car for 4 hours a day and during the 4 hours we would explore the rest of the island and try to find different places to eat, thinking that seafood would be the local specialty. That turned out not to be the case as we fiqured out after about 3 days of eating some of the worst fish and seafood we had ever attempted to eat.

Very good snorkeling water for viewing small very colorful small reef fish but saw almost no large fish which we thought was odd.
