Spend 16 days exploring, camping, hiking and canoeing in the Taurus Mountains of Turkey.
You spend days sightseeing in Istanbul, Ankara and Cappadocia. Among the ancient sites you see are Ataturk’s Mausoleum and the underground city of Kaymakli.
You stay with a Turkish family in Minare, and visit Koprulu Canyon, where you canoe and trek for three days, exploring the Imagi River.
You take a boat trip to the Kekova Island and see the Lycian tombs at Myra.
You spend nearly four days trekking in the Lycian Mountains. You trek to the ruins of Pinara and spend the night in a small mountain house at Kara Agac.
You conclude your trip with a visit to the famous beach Olu Deniz and conclude with an afternoon drive to your beach camp near Selcuk.

Wild Turkey Adventure Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Istanbul.
Day 2: A guided tour of Istanbul: St. Sofia, Blue Mosque, and Cistern Basilica. Overnight train to Ankara. BD
Day 3: Visit Ataturk’s Mausoleum in Ankara, on to Cappadocia. BD
Day 4: A full morning hiking in the region. B
Day 5: Visit Konya home of the whirling dervishes en route to our camp in the Taurus Mountains. BD
Day 6: Visit the theatre of Aspendos, and continue to our camp in the Koprulu Canyon. BD
Day 7: A day on the Irmagi River. You can chose between canoeing or rafting. BLD
Day 8: Visit the Lycian tombs at Myra. Boat trip to the submerged city of Kekova. BD
Day 9: Our trailhead is near Pinara. A short trek to the village of Minare where we stay as guests of a Turkish family. BD
Day 10: We trek to the ruins of Pinara a picnic lunch on the way Overnightat Kara Agac. BLD
Day 11: Our toughest day trekking, we take the steep trail to an isolated beach and return to our house for the night. BLD
Day 12: A mountain trail leading down to the most famous beach in Turkey at Olu Deniz. Beach camp near the town of Selcuk. BD
Day 13: A morning guided tour of the magnificent ruins of Ephesus. Free afternoon. B
Day 14: Drive to the “Cotton Castles” of Pamukkale, then to Denizli, overnight sleeper train to Istanbul. B
Day 15: Transfer to our pension. Free day. BD
Day 16: Tour ends after breakfast. B
Your accommodations include two nights in simple pensions, seven nights camping, three nights in local houses, two nights in a sleeper train and one night camping on a boat.
