A trip to far northern coastal Calif, and lower Oregon, during the winter Comb the beaches, look for sea life of all kinds, look at erosion made from nature.

The great winter cold fronts hit the coast, seeing up close as the storm makers (the Allutions)(I know not spelled correctly) dump the first winter hits upon this area, its fabulous, the power, the majesty, (not the cold part haha!)

Climbing high of the hiway 1 looking at the part of the redwoods few ever see, watching as they (as they have for hundred of years)withstand this onslaught of nature, yet they still stand.

This year a family of 4 will leave Dallas on July 5 (got to get out of the heat) travel to Sacramento by plane, then by car through the center of Calif. crossing over the mountains towards the pacific on old Hiway 36.

I will try my best to get pictures of the strip mining of trees (redwoods) it’s effects on the land as well as local feelings from loggers ect. that he spotted owl has stopped.

Activities included: Birdwatching, Canoeing, Horseback Riding, Scuba Diving, Sea Kayaking, Walking, White-Water Rafting

In addition to our standard Caribbean and Pacific itineraries, we can customize itineraries to meet the needs of any individual group. We offer private guided tours with a local naturalist guide to accompany your group throughout the entire tour and tours with a rental car. We recommend doing the adventure with a rental car. You choose an itinerary, we set your trip which includes all activities, accommodations, a rental car, local naturalist guides on your hikes, half of the meals, and map out everything for you and you are at your leisure for eight wonderful days in Costa Rica. The cost of our Caribbean and Pacific itineraries depend on the size of the group, the type of accommodations, and the itinerary you wish to choose or customize. We recommend the Caribbean itinerary because of the wide variety of activities that allow you to experience what Costa Rica has to offer.

Tour Plan

Costa Rican Adventures Caribbean Itinerary

Day 1:

Upon your arrival in San Jose you will go directly to the famous topiary gardens of Zarcero on our way to the mighty slopes of the Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica?s most active volcano.

Day 2:

Begin the day with a hike to the La Fortuna waterfall which pours out of the rainforest. Swim in the beautiful pools at the base of the waterfall and have our first look at the lush rainforest. Then in the afternoon and evening you will relax in the magical Tabacon Hot Springs as you witness lava exploding out of the volcano. What a sight!

Day 3:

Wake up early and continue your journey to the Sarapaqui region. The afternoon is spent on a relaxing boat ride exploring the Sarapaqui River. There is an abundance of wildlife on the river’s edge that gives you an opportunity to see caimans, river otters, and many different species of birds. The bio-diversity is unbelievable!

Day 4:

In the morning part for Cahuita National Park and explore the tropical rainforest, an ideal place to catch a glimpse of sloths, toucans and monkeys! Then snorkel at Cahuita beach which allows us to view not only the beauty of this underwater world but also the effect that the banana plantation runoff is having on the reefs. After a native Caribbean lunch at Cahuita?s famous Miss Edith?s, head off to spend the afternoon snorkeling off of Punta Uva. Punta Uva?s picturesque landscape of rainforest pours into the ocean.

Day 5:

Your day begins hiking along the coast through the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge which is teeming with monkeys, parrots, sloth?s and toucans. Traveling on the beach path and up into the jungle we observe an abundance of both flora and fauna. The afternoon is spent in Manzanillo snorkeling the reefs and kayaking up a tranquil river at Punta Uva.

Day 6:

During the morning hike through the Kekoldi Reserve, learn the culture and customs of the Bribri Indians, the indigenous inhabitants of Costa Rica. After this two-hour exhilarating hike through secondary rainforest, you arrive at the heart of their village and see how the Bribris make everything from

crafts to chocolate. A native three-course lunch is served with all ingredients coming from the rainforest!

Then you will drive to the picturesque mountain town of Turrialba. Your ride into the mountains affords you fabulous views and panoramas. After dinner at the famous Turrialtico Hotel you have the opportunity to visit a serpentarium and view various snakes and reptiles of Costa Rica. You even watch the extraction of venom from a fer de lance, the snake with longest fangs in the world.

Day 7:

Head to the banks of the Pacuare River for an unforgettable day of white water rafting. This most scenic river slices through virgin rainforest and plunges through mountain gorges which drop the most beautiful waterfalls alongside your raft. You stop on the riverside for an excellent picnic lunch. That evening you will return to your hotel outside of Heredia.

Day 8:

After breakfast at the hotel we head to San Jose to visit the National Museum that houses artifacts dating back to 10,000 B. C. After a farewell lunch, we visit one San Jose?s outdoor flea markets where you can purchase mementos of your Costa Rican Adventure. Then board the plane filled with unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime!

Our guests hike through the lush rainforest, whitewater raft through virgin rainforest, enjoy the abundance of wildlife on an afternoon boat ride down the Sarapaqui River, snorkel on beautiful coral reefs, kayak up a tranquil river or ride the waves, relax in mystical hot springs, and witness an active volcano exploding lava. Unlike other tours to Costa Rica, this ecological adventure allows guests to spend a great deal of time interacting with the indigenous cultures of the Southern Caribbean coast.

The cost of our Caribbean and Pacific itineraries depend on the size of the group, the type of accommodations, and the itinerary you wish to choose or customize.

Designed to suit a range of abilities and accommodate a wide range of individual interests, this week of active days and luxurious nights is sure to quench your appetite for adventure and relaxation. From the Bow Valley east of Banff, you cycle by shimmering peaks and cascading streams. During the next two days, you hike near Lake Louise in Banff and then return to mountain bikes for a ride along the renowned Icefield Parkway and a hike along the remarkable Iceline Trail.

Your finale is the raft trip on the Kicking Horse River. The pace is moderately easy with four days of moderate options.

Tour Plan

Rockies Multisport Adventure

Day 1: Your travels begin in Bow Valley, a dazzling region east of Banff, Alberta.
