Due to major alterations and extensions the former fortress was turned into a charming castle.

It is difficult to tell the precise location of the original core of the castle, yet there is evidence that Peuerbach was initially built as a moated castle, surrounded by a ditch.

Four square towers marked the corners of the ring wall, which surrounded the inner courtyard and the residential and other buildings.

Specially adapted tours for children. The museum and the nativity model owned by the Upper Austrian provincial authorities are well worth visiting!
