Graf Sigmund I. Batthyány offered one room to be used as a synagoge in 1715. In 1800 a synagoge was erected in the courtyard of a house - renovated in 1864. The portal dated back to the 19th century - so do the paintings. The adjoining library contains 12.000 books and 150 international as well as Austrian magazines. There is a subject catalogue and the library is open to the public.
