Acoording to commom practice in the Middle ages - the monastry should make shure its founder Andreas Baumkirchner gets a place in heaven. Thwe building process was begun in 1460 - part of the abbey burned down in the 16th century and in 1877the gothic Parish Church got its tower. Stadschlaining became a parish in 1806.
