The South Shetland Islands are a chain of picture perfect islands located on the northern tip of the Antarctica Peninsula. It is one of the most unique travel destinations in Antarctica that is inhibited by small groups of scientists and researchers from various countries and wide variety of seals, penguins and seabirds. Majority of the cruise ships travelling to the Antarctica Peninsula emerge from the Drake Passage and make a stop at the South Shetland Islands.

Popular tourist destinations include Livingston, Elephant, King George and Deception Islands. These islands are renowned for scenic beauty and offers wide variety of outdoor recreational activities. The chain of islands are regularly visited by tourist cruise ships and offers its visitors with wide variety of Antarctica sights, wildlife attractions, unique landscape and photo opportunities.
