In Amenas Airport, which is also known as the Zarzaitine Airport, is an international airport serving In Amenas Town of the Illizi Province in the North African nation of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Algeria. In Amenas Town is in south-eastern Algeria, the site of the largest Liquefied Natural Gas joint development project of this country which started in the year 2006, and is located near the border with Libya. Situated at an elevation of 1,847 feet above mean sea level, the In Amenas Airport is a public cum military aviation facility at a distance of 9 kilometers to the east of the city centre, and has been an active participant in the development of this region.

This airport is having a couple of asphalt surfaced runways measuring 9,843 feet and 7,218 feet which on an average are catering to over 3,600 passenger/public flight movements each year. A single passenger terminal with most modern aviation facilities is serving all varieties of flights to/from this airport, including many domestic and international chartered services. This international Airport is owned and operated by EGSA Alger, which is an airport management services establishment of the government of Algeria operating a total number of 18 airports within this country. Buses and private taxi services are available outside the main terminal building enabling passengers commute to/from the airport, to the city centre.

Car rental services are not available at this airport although there is a good demand from the visitors who would like to have them.
