Chlef International Airport

Aeroport International de Chlef, also known as the Aboubakr Belkaid Airport or the Chlef International Airport is an international public airport near Chlef City, the capital of the Chlef Province in the north-western region of the North African nation of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Algeria. Located to the north of Chlef City, this aviation facility was formerly known as the ‘Warnier Airfield’ during the Second World War. It served as a major air base of the Twelfth Air Force in the North African Campaign war against the German Afrika Korps.

At an elevation of 463 feet above mean sea level, this airport is situated at a distance of 200 kilometers to the west of the Algerian capital city of Algiers. Chlef City is located on the confluence of the river Chlef and the Tsighaout, and is comprising of one of the hottest regions of Algeria. It is well connected through scheduled flight services to many destinations in France including Lyon, Marseille and Paris. The Chlef International Airport is having a couple of asphalt surfaced runways measuring 9,186 feet and 5,249 feet catering to all varieties of flight movements to/from this aviation facility.
