The recent wars have taken a tool on majority of the historic monuments in Afghanistan and have severely damaged most of them.  During the excavations carried out at the archeological sites in Afghanistan, evidences of human habitation dating back to the 50,000 BC have been found. The capital Kabul is one of the leading travel and tourism destinations in Afghanistan and is regarded as one of the oldest Central Asian Cities.
